Established in 1986 as a gelato bar in Vernazza (Cinque Terre) by Valentino’s father Giuseppe Giannoni, Gelateria Vernazza has been offering traditional artisan gelato of the finest quality to customers from all over the world.

Helping Guiseppe to make gelato was not only his wife Anna Maria, but also nine-year-old Valentino, who was given the happy task of trying all the fresh flavours!

During this early introduction Valentino developed confidence and knowledge, giving him in later years the opportunity to help in the gelati production with the same passion and love as his parents.

In the year 2000 Valentino scooped the perfect gelato when he served Carly, who was backpacking through Italy from Australia. They married three years later on a Byron Bay beach in Australia and now have two young children.

From his family gelateria In Vernazza, Italy, to his retail outlet at Salt, Kingscliff, where he won much acclaim, Valentino Giannoni has now established his award winning gelato manufacturing base at Bangalow Industrial Estate, just two minutes from town along the Lismore road.

Gelati Vernazza offers the same wonderful flavours made from imported Italian ingredients, organic milk and fresh local fruits.
